Joseph Zarrella met Dorothy Day in New York and joined the Catholic Worker movement in its early days. Zarrella married Mary Alice Lautner and moved to her home town of Tell City, Indiana, where he established a Catholic Worker House of Hospitality. Dorothy Day visited Zarrella many times.
