NOTA BENE: The abbreviation "S.J.B." followed by a date in a number of the following bound editions stands for "Saint Joseph's Bindery." Fr. Phillip Richert, OCSO began binding books at Gethsemani Abbey in the 1950s. Because of his devotion to St. Joseph, Fr. Phillip named the abbey's bindery in the saint's honor. When Merton finished a book, it would often go to the bindery and later the monastic library.
